I can't believe I let myself get captivated by a magical girl anime!  Moonphase has the typical Anime trappings (action/magic, silly girls and hopeless boys) but it's the humor that has me coming back from more.  "This cat has no rectum!" and "The boy is supernaturally retarted." ate my brain with laughter.  I've watched the first two DVDs in the series and now havta wait till the 3rd releases in early January.  Damnit Danie!! I blame you for pussifying my Anime tastes.

Naruto Episode 213 - The Lost Memories

The good people at Dattebayo are beyond bitter but I still love em for keeping my Japanese Naruto coming so I don't havta watch the round eye episodes on Cartoon Network.  BELIEVE IT!

Episode 213 is the start of yet another filler story arc.  I don't want to ruin the story for those who havn't seen it but lets just say it's another "guy did some bad things and wants to atone for his sins by rescuing babies from burning hospitals and pulling weeds for the elderly."  You know, the usual.

I must say I was a little surprised by the level of violence in this episode.  Aside from the usual kunai flying and feet kicking this episode also sported villagers getting cut down (with blood) and a goon who kicked a little girl in the stomach so hard that she went flying.  I'm sure they'll edit that if this episode ever airs in the US.

One of the things I love about Naruto are the "normal" things that defy reality or at least sanity.  Sure, every episode has awesome jutsus that are downright magical.  What I love is how Naruto often depicts "normal" reality.  Like thus:

• If you find a little girl bawling over her freshly slain father you can calm her down by giving her a warm smile along the a necklace that fell from her father's bleeding neck.
• Dozaemon: Sakura uses the word dozaemon which means drowned corpose.  Naruto mistakenly thinks it is the man's name.  I guess you gota be Japanese to get it.

Only one new techniques this episode:

• Jigyaku no Jutsu: Time Reversal Technique - A medical nin uses this technique to search through a patient's memory by going into his subconscious.  Reverse Hypnotism.

Be a Big Damn Hero?

For all you Firefly fans out there I have some news that may stir a itch in your pants.  Some no-name company called Multiverse just annouced that they're going to develop a  Firefly MMO.   At first I was excited but after some thought I realized that I was pissed.  I don't know why I was surprised when I read that Fox went with an unproven developer but then I remembered that Fox is full of dumbasses who are damn near infamous for their idiotic decisions.  It was FOX that canceled Firefly without even airing every episode!  Why would they give a damn about a Firefly game? 

This nay-sayer sure thinks it's gonna suck.  I gotta admit he certainly brings up some valid points.  I hope the developers either take his recomendations to heart or something physically goes wrong with their hearts.  Maybe some personal tragedy will prevent them from delivering a tragic blow to such a beloved series. 

Of course I'll buy it if they actually see this through and release the game.  Sorry bastards.

Fried Green Bean Death!

So here I am at TGI-Friedays in Fort Myers FL and apparently I want to die. I have no other explination for why I thought fried green beans would actually be a good idea. Damn you TGIF for destroying what little nutritional value the humble green bean onced possessed.

A lonely geek in Orlando

So how does a lonely geek pass the time in Orlando Florida? He visits Sci Fi City, the gamer Mecca of central Florida! This place was huge with a massive selection of rpgs and minis (OMG each figure had its own peg!) I picked up the new Serenity RPG supplement which I hadn't seen anywhere else. Good stuff.

Orlando bound

So here I am crammed into a 747 in route to Orlando Florida on a business trip.  I don't often get a window seat when I fly so I figured I'd take advantage of the view with a few shots from my camera phone  They're not the best but you get the idea.  I hadn't thought about it before we left but obviously the most direct route is across the Gulf of Mexico.

Long live the D!

Toby and I cought the new flick Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny and it rocked my fucking socks off! Having enjoyed their first album to the point of knowing all the lyrics I can easily say that any D fanboy will go shit nuts for this sort of prequel. I was sort of hoping for more signature Liam Lynch visuals ala Sifl and Ollie but still hats off to his debut directing efforts. Unfortunately, judging by the empty AMC theater I'm afraid it's not going to do well.

Oh well I sure dug it. Now it's time for me to go practice my cock pushups.

Action Figure Museum

Pauls Valley Oklahoma is home of the biggest collection action figures Tiawan and China had to offer! Talk about an assload of toys. I think the collection owner single handedly paid for Todd MacFarlane's beach house.
